It’s always exciting to finish one season and look forward to the next. This was especially true for me today as I bound the kid’s books together and had a chance to review all their hard work. As I listened to them recite Psalm 91 and take their prizes, I was reminded of just how precious these children are to God. While they were digging into their hearts to remember the biblical and historical truths that we learned, I saw them again, as God sees them, young children with huge destinies….future pillars in His Kingdom, ones that He will use to raise up to establish the Kingdom of God on earth, future rulers and priests that will govern with Him. As I watched their creativity expressed, I was reminded of God’s promise in Isaiah 65:23, that my work is not in vain, these children were not born for calamity, but they are the offspring of those blessed by the Lord, and their descendants after them.
So we close out our semester in the midst of celebrating Hanukkah and Christmas, the season of Light and Joy! It’s my prayer that these children and all the children of the world, experience His Light and Joy in a greater dimension this year, that through the darkness of the hour, they will Arise and Shine because His Light has truly come!
Until next year, Shalom!
